| California's Largest Gaming Organization Chooses Sendio's Email Security Platform to Eliminate 100 Percent of Spam and Email Threats |
IRVINE, Calif. - Novembr 18, 2008 - Sendio, Inc., an innovative email security company with solutions that incorporate the human element to totally eliminate spam and e-mail threats in the enterprise environment, today announced Pechanga Resort & Casino, California’s largest casino, is the latest to join a growing list of gaming organizations to deploy Sendio’s Email Security Platform (ESP). Pechanga Resort & Casino chose Sendio’s ESP because it is not content-based, like spam filters, and for ESP’s proven ability to eradicate spam and email threats entirely, resulting in dramatic time and resource savings for the gaming organization. Known as an innovator in both the gaming industry and as an IT organization, Pechanga is a four diamond casino with 1500 email users. According to Pechanga’s IT Security Administrator Gilbert Mendoza, the company faced a two-fold problem with email: dealing with a critical need for enhanced security due to the large sums of capital they moved on a daily basis, while at the same time handling the magnitude of spam plaguing all Pechanga personnel. The spam filter solution they used previously was insufficient at stopping spam from getting to the inbox and was actually hindering the delivery of legitimate email (false positives). In addition, members of Pechanga’s IT staff spent many hours each week just to keep their users’ inboxes secure.
“We tried a variety of filter-based software solutions to help eliminate the thousands of spam messages that were inundating our inboxes every day,” said Mendoza. “It wasn’t until we implemented ESP that our spam problem stopped entirely. ESP worked exactly as advertised because it uses the right approach for attacking the problem – combining SilverListing with Sender Address Verification (SAV) to prevent spam and the loss of ‘good’ emails that previously wound up in limbo.” Sendio’s ESP combines SilverListing, a proprietary technology which includes a set of low-level SMTP tests to determine the legitimacy of the sending e-mail server, and SAV, which verifies the legitimacy of first-time, unsolicited senders and introduces a human element into the process. As in the case of Pechanga, Sendio’s ESP enables the complete elimination of spam with minimal administrative maintenance, achieving significant time and resource savings for gaming organizations. After implementing SilverListing, the first line of defense in Sendio’s ESP, nearly 90 percent of Pechanga’s malicious email was eliminated with no false positives, freeing up considerable network bandwidth. Since the SAV technology was also implemented, Pechanga personnel have not received a single spam message, and Pechanga’s IT staff now spends only a few minutes per week managing e-mail security, freeing up hours of time for more critical IT matters. “Our mission at Sendio is to keep all of our customers secure and productive by completely eliminating the burden of spam and e-mail threats,” said Kevin Bowyer, CEO of Sendio, Inc. “The tangible, positive results experienced by Pechanga provide validation of our successful impact on the gaming industry, which continues to be a very important and growing market for Sendio.”
