Sendio Fact Sheet
The Company
Sendio was founded in 2004 to do one thing very well: protect email systems from external threats and abuse.
re-establishes e-mail as a trusted method of communications by totally eliminating spam and e-mail threats. This results in dramatic time savings for users and reclaims lost resources for the company. Unlike spam filters, Sendio’s proactive approach incorporates a critical human element that brings authenticity to e-mail communications and creates a more focused business environment.
The Problem - E-mail Clutter, Viruses and Inefficiencies Spam, viruses and e-mail threats have become an epidemic problem in today’s enterprise environment, consuming valuable time, money and resources. E-mail spam filter companies claim to solve the problem, but the reality is that the filter approach is fundamentally flawed because filters have no way of distinguishing intent from content, or "bad" from "good" emails. They also don’t factor in “false positive” messages, so legitimate e-mails get blocked because they contain words that the filter incorrectly labels as “inappropriate.” Because of this, filters need continual fine-tuning to block unwanted messages, making spam filter management a time-consuming task for network administrators. There is an acute need for a solution which can alleviate the spam and virus burden with 100 percent effectiveness, 100 percent of the time.
The E-mail 2.0 Solution Enter Sendio, a company dedicated to the complete elimination of spam and e-mail threats in the enterprise. Sendio’s innovative sender address verification (SAV) approach to e-mail security is similar to the verification steps embraced by millions of social networking users, such as Facebook and LinkedIn, and the “buddy” list model used by leading IM providers Skype and AOL. Sender authentication is not a new concept in the communications world, yet Sendio’s application of SAV to e-mail is a paradigm shift – e-mail 2.0. When SAV is implemented in Sendio’s E-mail Security Platform (ESP), it only sends an SAV message to a first-time, unsolicited sender. Sendio’s ESP also incorporates Silverlisting, a proprietary technology which includes a set of low-level SMTP tests to determine the legitimacy of the sending e-mail server. Silverlisting is the first line of defense, preventing up to 95 percent of spam from reaching the recipient server and freeing up network bandwidth, and system and personnel resources. Through the combination of Silver-listing and SAV, Sendio’s ESP far surpasses the capabilities of current spam filter offerings and finally secures the enterprise inbox through the complete elimination of spam, substantially increasing productivity. ESP installation is easy and straightforward. Utilizing an “Install and Forget” method of configuration, ESP doesn’t require constant maintenance, nor client-side software installation. It integrates seamlessly with any e-mail server, and once deployed, provides instant time-savings for both administrators and end-users by allowing them to focus on more critical business tasks rather than dealing with spam.
